To maintain a relationship with your family on the outside, your family is allowed to visit you in prison. You may also be visited by your lawyer so that you can prepare your case. These visits may be limited in number and time, and in some cases monitored by the prison officers as well. However, with respect to human rights, the level of the restrictions depends on who is visiting you – your family or your lawyer.

You have a unrestricted right to receive visits from your criminal defence counsel, representative who is an advocate, minister of religion and a consular officer of your country of nationality and with a notary for performance of a notarial act. These types of visits will be uninterrupted.
